“One of the newest treatments the group is offering is called venous ablation and it is a treatment for superficial venous disease and chronic venous insufficiency.”

For over 30 years Cardiovascular Consultants Medical Group (CCMG) has provided state of the art care while always remembering that the patient is at the heart of everything they do.

The group’s physicians have extensive experience diagnosing and treating patients with cardiovascular disease, peripheral vascular disease and rhythm disorders. Today CCMG physicians are helping more than 30,000 patients manage their heart conditions. CCMG has offices in Brentwood, Castro Valley, Oakland, San Ramon, and Walnut Creek. Plans are underway to grow the practice by opening a new office in Concord at the end of this year.

Over a year ago the group partnered with University HealthCare Alliance, a premier healthcare network of community physicians sponsored by Stanford Hospital & Clinics. CCMG patients now get direct and convenient access to Stanford’s world renowned specialists right in our East Bay offices.

Dr. Paul Ludmer, CCMG’s president comments, “In the past, our patients with Advanced Heart Failure were referred out from our offices for treatment. They had to travel to Stanford or other academic institutions to receive the type of care they require. Now, we’re bringing the specialists to our patients. They receive the same world class Stanford care right in our East Bay offices.”

CCMG is committed to delivering the highest quality healthcare in a supportive and compassionate environment. All physicians in the group are Board certified in Cardiovascular Disease, with most holding additional Board certifications in Echocardiography, Nuclear Cardiology, Interventional Cardiology and Electrophysiology.

CCMG uses a team-based approach to provide comprehensive treatment and services to patients. Patient care teams include cardiologists, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, cardiac nurses, nuclear technicians, cardiac and vascular sonographers, medical assistants, administrative and office support staff to handle all patient needs.

CCMG provides the full spectrum of cardiology services, including state-of-the-art cardiac diagnostic testing, pioneering treatments for arrhythmia and non-surgical approaches to vascular, valvular and coronary artery disease. NEW TECHNOLOGIES

CCMG physicians have always kept abreast of new research and cutting edge therapies and treatments. The practice is currently managing around a dozen research protocols which evaluate latest diagnostics and therapies for cardiovascular disease, including congestive heart disease, valvular disease, arrhythmia management and peripheral vascular conditions.

One of the newest treatments the group is offering is called venous ablation and it is a treatment for superficial venous disease and chronic venous insufficiency. CCMG’s Dr. Christopher Wulff is one of the few Interventional Cardiologists in the East Bay providing patients this new, office based, non-invasive treatment. Venous Insufficiency can result in painful, heavy and sometimes unattractive veins in the legs and feet. Patients with advanced cases may experience wounds or ulceration of the skin.

Rather than surgically addressing the issue, Dr. Wulff collapses the problem vein thereby allowing other veins to take over. This new procedure, performed in the office, takes just over 30 minutes, and has minimal discomfort and recovery time.

Ronald Brown of Lafayette is one of Dr. Wulff’s most recent patients. “My leg and foot have given me trouble for quite some time. There was an ulcer on my foot that would not heal for the last eight or nine months. I had the ablation procedure in Dr. Wulff’s Walnut Creek office and now the ulcer is better. I couldn’t be happier or feel better.”

In addition to the office based services, CCMG provides inpatient care at most Contra Costa and Alameda County hospitals.
