East Bay Photo Contest 110

Calling all local photographers! 110° will be showcasing the best in local photography once per month. If you would like to showcase your photos in our publication, feel free to submit your work. You do not have to be a professional photographer to be chosen; we encourage both professionals and amateurs to submit their photos. We are looking for photos that capture the beauty and essence of our East Contra Costa County region. They can include places, people, or local events. There is no cost to submit; however, a photo release will be required. The photos showcased this month are compliments of Victoria Van Linge.

Victoria finds joy in capturing life’s special moments. Her love of photography began when she was very young. At age 8, she was given a pink digital camera and photographed everything in sight. In hindsight, her mother says, “It was the best birthday gift because she took so many amazing baby pictures of her sister who was born that year.” By age 17, a family friend who was a photographer herself recognized Victoria’s love for photography and gifted her with a camera. This was Victoria’s first “professional” camera. She was ecstatic and photographed anyone who was willing to stand in front of her lens for some poses. As she entered adulthood, she decided it was time to purchase a camera that would provide the quality she was after to deliver exceptional photos. She’s been very happy with her Sony A7II, and her love for photography has continued to grow.

During the early months of the pandemic, job stability was uncertain, and by October of 2020, she decided to go “all in” with her photography business, Victoria Van Linge Media. It’s no surprise that the wonderful Brentwood community supported her, and she began filling her calendar with photo sessions. She was photographing high school and college graduates, couples, families, and local events in Brentwood. Her business continued to thrive! Even though we’ve been in the midst of a pandemic, life’s celebrations continue, and she is so glad that she has the opportunity to capture them. Victoria has recently moved out of the Brentwood area which was her hometown, but she visits periodically and books photo sessions when she does. She continues to provide photography for graduates, businesses, couples, families, weddings, special events, and recently began photography for real estate properties. She is extremely passionate about capturing authentic moments. Her utmost goal is to provide an experience for her clients where true emotion and connection is fostered, and to ensure that it is revealed in the photographs so the memories can live on for years to come.
