Spa Blú
5887 Lone Tree Way
Antioch

www.dayspablu.com

Lori’s love for this business has kept her in it for 20 years. She is a perfectionist at whatever she does. She also has a creative mind and can respond to problems as they arise by incorporating solutions from her extensive tool chest of techniques and procedures. She helps people with their skin-care problems, and helps them to relax and to enjoy the candle-lit ambiance of the Spa Blú experience. There’s always something new to learn in the spa industry, she says. She is passionate about her work and about everything in her life, including her lovely family.

Celeste Sanchez, Manicurist
Spa Blú
5887 Lone Tree Way
Antioch
925-778-7258
www.dayspablu.com

Celeste has been working with people’s hands for 23 years. She enjoys working with the public and has a customer service orientation to her job. She says that working at Spa Blú is different than working at a salon because a receptionist handles customer calls, scheduling, and appointments, freeing Celeste to give undivided attention to her clients. She says that her fellow workers are pleasant to work with. “We all enjoy making people feel good.” When her clients see their hands and feet after a session, they are satisfied; and that satisfies her.

Patty Vlahakos-Garcia, Esthetician
Spa Blú
5887 Lone Tree Way
Antioch
925-778-7258
www.dayspablu.com

Patty comes from a family of estheticians. From childhood Patty observed her aunt doing skin care. Her aunt is a nurse and owner of “Aesthetics Plus,” in Dublin where she teaches skin-care to nurses and estheticians. Patty was born and grew up in San Francisco. She moved to East County, drawn by the lure of affordable housing. She was excited when Spa Blú opened up, since she has wanted to get into the profession for many years. Patty loves taking care of her clients, and is especially drawn to sharing with them the things she has herself learned about skin care.

Patti Michel, Esthetician
Spa Blú
5887 Lone Tree Way
Antioch
925-778-7258
www.dayspablu.com

Patti became interested in aesthetics as a teenager with acne problems. She began working with a professional who over a period of several months absolutely cleared up her face. She enjoys networking with other professionals. The industry keeps moving forward and she likes staying on the cutting edge of the technology. She says that her profession is especially interesting because there are always things to be learned and interesting people to learn them with. Her biggest enjoyment comes from working with clients who have skin-care problems. She enjoys watching them blossom as their skin problems diminish or vanish.

Betty Jo Nelson, Manicurist
Spa Blú
5887 Lone Tree Way
Antioch
925-778-7258
www.dayspablu.com

Betty Jo started doing people’s nails 20 years ago. Even before becoming a full-time professional, she was entering and winning nail shows and contests. She’s a fully licensed cosmotologist and experienced in working both with people’s hair and nails. Betty Jo exercises natural abilities in discovering the style that makes a client look good as well as feel good. She says that she enjoys the relaxing atmosphere at Spa Blú. Lately she has been teaching clients about natural skin products — “cosmosuticals” that work for the client by bringing together nature and medicine in promoting healing and wellness.

Christle Montes, Massage Therapist
Spa Blú
5887 Lone Tree Way
Antioch
925-778-7258
www.dayspablu.com

Christle got interested in the bodywork profession while in high school. She read a book on reflexology and began giving foot massages to friends and family members. Even as a novice, Christle was impressed with how people benefited from the experience, and by how much they enjoyed it. Christle continues to enjoy learning about the human body through reflexology, acupressure, and lymphatic therapy. She says that she still enjoys watching the positive reactions of her clients to her massage. She graduated from the School of Healing Touch in Castro Valley.

Jennifer Rose , Esthetician
Spa Blú
5887 Lone Tree Way
Antioch
925-778-7258
www.dayspablu.com

Jennifer was born in County Cork, and manages to get back “home” every year. She has a typically Irish sense of warmth and fun, and was attracted to the skin-care industry because she enjoys meeting people and helping them to happiness. Jennifer also enjoys traveling around the U.S. taking courses in beauty and make-up. She appreciates Spa Blú’s friendly and serene environment that immerses clients from the moment they walk in the door until they leave. “Spa Blú gives me the best opportunity possible to really shine,” Jennifer says. “This is more than a job; I love coming to work!”

Brianna Edwards, Concierge
Spa Blú
5887 Lone Tree Way
Antioch
925-778-7258
www.dayspablu.com

Brianna is the youngest staff member of the Spa Blú team. She works diligently to make a first impression upon clients and perspective clients that will embody both the friendliness and the professionalism that marks the Spa Blú culture. The technicians depend upon Brianna and the other receptionists to take care of the administrative details of the business so they can devote their undivided attention to their clients. Brianna is having a great time working in the spa environment, but has her sights set on some day becoming a Forensic Scientist. (Think C.S.I.)
