From 80 acres of prime land on Balfour Road featuring Bordeaux and Rhone varietals, Hannah Nicole now produces over 10 wines.
This daring investment was born from the belief that Contra Costa County, home to some of the original 19th century vineyards, was — and can again be — a great wine region. Hannah Nicole winemaker, John Sotelo, who was trained by three French winemakers with an emphasis on blending Port and Champagne, brings his art to bear on the processing of high-quality grapes. The Hannah Nicole flagship Viognier and Meritage especially showcase the grandeur and elegance of Contra Costa wines.
Neil and Glenda continue to expand their varietals and portfolio of wines to display the best of this once old-now-new-again, wine region. Their new state of the art 18,000 square foot winery, tasting room, and event center opened in 2009 — a world class destination for wine lovers everywhere — reflects Glenda’s passion for creating beautiful, gracious environments where people gather to celebrate the joyous moments of their lives, from a tasting for two to a lavish wedding for hundreds.
