The Groomed Guy
Don’t forget about the men! Manscaping is a must these days, and what better way to tame facial hair than with a fresh, new razor.

The Dollar Shave Club helps men (and women) to “shave time” and “shave money.” Upon entering their website you are asked to select one of the razors they offer, either The Humble Twin (two blades), The 4X (four blades), or The Executive (six blades), all stainless steel. The price changes depending on which blade you choose. A handle is included with your blades, and upgrading, downgrading, or canceling are available at any time. You pay one monthly fee, and the Dollar Shave Club sends a set of multiple razors right to your door. There is no longer a need to over-pay for fancy brand name razors, and forgetting to purchase a refill will never again be an issue.

The Master Chef
With cooking shows hogging hours of air time, many DIY viewers are taking to the kitchen to try out the latest delectable recipe. The Kai 6 piece Pure Komachi 2 Knife Set is the ideal tool belt to have handy when slicing and dicing. This set includes an 8” Chef’s Knife, 8” Bread Knife, 4” Citrus HD Knife, 3.5” Paring HD Knife, 6.5” Hollow Ground Santoku Knife, and 6” Serrated Multi-Utility Knife. The carbon stainless steel blades are equipped with frictionreducing liquid color coating, and all non-serrated knives are hand-sharpened on a whetstone and finished on a Japanese leather wheel for the best quality cutting edge. The full-sized knives come in a rainbow of colors, as well as with a color coordinated sheath for safe handling in between uses. The variety of hues also protects against cross-contamination of your food, making it easier to remember which blade you used on your meat and which one on your veggies.

The Tech Savvy
Everyone knows when the latest Apple product is going to be released, waiting in great anticipation to see what they are going to come up with next. This time around Apple introduced the iPhone 5c, a plastic version of its already popular ancestor. The new plastic phones boast bold new colors, complete with matching home screens. Choose from white, pink, yellow, blue, or green. Beneath the plastic exterior resides a steel-reinforced frame that holds the structure iPhones are known for. The 5c also comes equipped with a new camera app that allows you the option of shooting your photos in a high-resolution square format, making your Instagram capabilities even easier. The new FaceTime HD camera is also new and allows for better conversation courtesy of larger pixels and an improved illumination sensor.

The Advanced Learner
Unlike the helpless and confused story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears, GoldieBlox andthe Spinning Machine tells a much different tale. The award winning series entertains with a story about Goldie and her dog Nacho. She must build a machine that helps her furry friend chase his tail, and it doesn’t take long for all of her friends to join in. The books also come with a construction set that allows children to help Goldie build a belt drive machine to spin everybody. They can choose from 16 different design ideas and unlimited building possibilities. While having a blast learning about GoldieBlox and Nacho and helping them solve their tail chasing dilemma, children will be building spatial skills, applying engineering principles, and gaining confidence in problem-solving. This educational and entertaining set can be found at Five Little Monkeys in Walnut Creek.

The Charismatic Kid
When the Tickle Me Elmo Extreme was released in 2006, parents everywhere flooded Target, Walmart, and Toys’R’Us stores in hopes of getting their hands on the coveted doll (sometimes even leading to physical altercations). Now Elmo is making a comeback, this time in a much larger fashion. Big Hugs Elmo is over two feet tall and actually hugs your child back. The plush toy moves his arms to hug, plays songs, and dances with your child. Toddlers will love pretending to be an astronaut, rabbit, frog, or horse, and Preschoolers will remain entertained while learning the ABCs, numbers, colors, shapes, and more. Over 50 animated sounds keep Elmo interactive, and when it’s naptime, just lay him down and Big Hugs Elmo will sing a lullaby and make sleeping sounds to nap along with your child.
